Most of us know him as Isaac, our friendly security guard who takes his job extremely seriously. Simbonile’s schooling was interrupted in Grade 11 when both his parents passed away. Last year, with the help of residents of Die Rand who bought books, tutored and encouraged him, he finally earned his Matric certificate. The next step was getting a driver’s licence and we are so happy to hear that he passed his learner’s licence exam this morning. He will start with driving school next week. We encourage residents to congratulate him and, if you have the nerve for it, take him for a driving lesson.
